KATHMANDU, July 11: The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is presently located slightly north of its average position.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), the weather is generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, while one or two places in Madhesh Province are also receiving light to moderate rain.
This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at many places across the country, along with light to moderate snowfall at a few places in the Himalayan region.

The DHM has also forecast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at many places in the hilly region.
Similarly, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Tarai region, while light to moderate snowfall is expected at some places in the Himalayan region.
There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the hilly and Tarai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Himalayan region.
