Locals burn PM Shah's effigy in Rautahat over non-implementation of court order

RAUTAHAT, July 9: Locals in Maulapur Municipality of Rautahat burned an effigy of Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Thursday, accusing the government of failing to implement a Supreme Court order.



During the protest, demonstrators chanted slogans demanding payment of electricity and water bills, implementation of the Supreme Court's order, the resignation of Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal, and an end to what they described as efforts to freeze the municipality's budget.

The protesters also demanded an immediate end to alleged interference in the municipality's administrative and financial affairs. They warned of stronger protests if the court order is not implemented without delay.
