Minister Ghising warns of immediate action against overcharging transport operators

The minister also urged the public to remain vigilant and report incidents of overcharging or black-market ticket sales to local security agencies and the administration without delay.

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has issued a stern warning to transport operators exploiting passengers during the festive season. He said anyone charging more than the approved fare or engaging in black-market ticket sales will face immediate action.



Complaints have been pouring in from passengers regarding excessive fares and the black market for tickets. Ghising urged transport entrepreneurs to halt such illegal practices immediately.

“At a time when the country is going through a difficult situation, transport operators must act responsibly. Exploiting passengers during festivals will not be tolerated,” he said.
