Munish Kumar Chandna elected chairman of Nepal SBI Bank

The 548th meeting of the Board of Directors of Nepal SBI Bank Limited, held on August 12, unanimously elected Munish Kumar Chandna, a director representing State Bank of India (SBI), as chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors.

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: The 548th meeting of the Board of Directors of Nepal SBI Bank Limited, held on August 12, unanimously elected Munish Kumar Chandna, a director representing State Bank of India (SBI), as chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors.



Chandna is currently serving as Chief General Manager (International Banking-II) at SBI’s International Banking Group, Corporate Office, Mumbai. He provides strategic leadership for SBI’s international operations across East and South Asia, Singapore, Australia and key overseas subsidiaries.

Chandna took the oath of office and secrecy from Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Prof Dr Biswo Nath Poudel at a ceremony held at NRB’s Central Office in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on Sunday.


NRB Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit, Executive Directors Ramu Poudel and Dirgha Bahadur Rawal, Director Sharan Kumar Adhikari, and SBI Deputy Managing Director (International Banking Group) Kishore Kumar Poludasu were present at the ceremony.


Also present were Nepal SBI Bank directors Ritesh Sinha, Bharat Raj Wasti and Apsara Upreti; Managing Director and CEO Ram Kumar Tiwari; Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer Vikas Anand; Chief Financial Officer Rajesh Kumar Panda; Chief Business Development Officer Prabin Muni Bajracharya; and Company Secretary Khageshwar Bhatt.
