KATHMANDU, June 9: Nabil Bank Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Dhulikhel Hospital to strengthen emergency healthcare and rehabilitation services across Nepal, committing financial support worth Rs 6 crore.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed on Monday by Nabil Bank CEO Manoj Kumar Gnyawali and Dhulikhel Hospital Administrative Director Dr. Birajman Karmacharya.

The initiative focuses on improving access and quality of care in key areas such as burn treatment, dialysis services, and prosthetic rehabilitation, which both institutions identified as growing healthcare needs in Nepal.

Under the agreement, Dhulikhel Hospital will establish a 10-bed intensive burn care unit, while similar facilities will be expanded to other provinces under hospital leadership. The partnership also includes support for setting up two prosthetic limb and rehabilitation service units and strengthening dialysis services nationwide.

Nabil Bank Chairman Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to creating meaningful social impact through healthcare investments. He emphasized that the bank’s CSR initiatives are aimed at measurable improvements in people’s lives.

CEO Gnyawali stated that the partnership is intended to improve access to quality healthcare for underprivileged and marginalized communities, calling CSR a core responsibility rather than a formality.

Dhulikhel Hospital Founder and Executive Director Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha highlighted the hospital’s long-standing community-based service model and said the collaboration would enhance its capacity in burn care, prosthetics, and dialysis treatment.

The agreement will remain in effect for three years. Nabil Bank has been actively investing in healthcare-related CSR programs, including burn treatment camps across multiple provinces where hundreds of patients have received free care and surgeries, as well as support for prosthetic centers benefiting more than 300 people so far.
