KATHMANDU, May 20: Nepali Congress lawmaker Khadak Bahadur Budha has called for timely management of people affected by natural disasters and genuine landless squatters.

He also urged the government to expedite reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, including roads, drinking water systems, and other development projects affected by natural calamities.
Lawmaker Budha, who is said to have recently returned from a field visit to affected areas, shared an emotional account in the House of the hardships faced by 60-year-old Dhanasara Damai of Junichande Rural Municipality–11.
He said that after the 2015 earthquake destroyed her house, even the temporary shelter provided by the government was later blown away by strong winds, leaving squatter families living on public land at risk of complete displacement.
