SURKHET, July 23: The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has unanimously decided to back the no-confidence motion against the CPN-UML-led Karnali Province government, reaffirming its alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC) in a move that further tightens pressure on Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel.
A meeting of the NCP's Karnali Province Parliamentary Party on Thursday resolved to vote in favour of the no-confidence motion as part of a strategy to ensure its passage while continuing political cooperation with the NC.

According to the party's chief whip, Krishna Bahadur GC, the meeting directed all NCP provincial assembly members to remain united and ensure the success of the motion, which was registered at the Karnali Provincial Assembly Secretariat on July 16.
GC said party lawmakers have also been instructed to attend the upcoming Provincial Assembly meeting and vote in line with the party's decision.
He said the party concluded that the current government had failed to meet public expectations and had been unable to deliver the desired progress in development, good governance, and public service delivery. On that basis, the party decided to support the no-confidence motion.
GC also said the NCP's political partnership with the NC would continue in the upcoming political process.
The no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Kandel's government was registered on July 16 with the backing of provincial assembly members from the NC and the NCP.
