KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The Embassy of Nepal on Friday hosted a programme on Nepal–Bangladesh Economic Cooperation in Rajshahi, Bangladesh underscoring growing momentum in bilateral economic ties.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari highlighted steady progress in key areas of cooperation, including power trade, investment and tourism. Emphasising the pivotal role of the private sector, he urged business communities from both countries to actively engage with one another to further expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Nepal, Bangladesh ink energy cooperation deal
First Secretary Yojana Bamjan delivered a detailed presentation outlining priority sectors for enhanced cooperation, ranging from trade and investment to connectivity, education and people-to-people exchanges. An interactive session followed, during which participants raised questions and shared concerns, which were addressed by the Embassy officials.
The programme also featured remarks from representatives of government agencies and business associations based in Rajshahi. More than 120 participants—including members of chambers of commerce and industries, leading business figures, travel and tourism entrepreneurs, and media professionals—attended the event.
