Both Nepal and the United States had lost their opening matches against Scotland. Nepal, however, bounced back by defeating the United States by nine wickets in their second match and Scotland by six wickets in the third. In the fifth match of the series, the United States defeated Scotland by six wickets.

In the current standings, the United States sit at the top with 38 points from 27 matches, while Nepal are in fifth place with 22 points from the same number of games. Scotland are second despite having the same points as the United States, trailing on net run rate.

A victory for Nepal on Friday would improve their position in the standings. A defeat could see the United States slip to second place. If the table-toppers, the United States, win, they will extend their lead over Scotland to two points.
