Visitors from SAARC countries accounted for the largest share, with 48,254 arrivals, or 52.8% of the total. India remained the largest source market with 41,809 visitors, followed by China with 8,875. Other major source markets included the United States (5,237), the United Kingdom (3,266), Australia (2,694), Japan (2,497) and Germany (1,892).
NTB Senior Officer Santosh Bikram Thapa attributed the increase to expanded international air connectivity, tourism promotion campaigns, targeted marketing in key source markets and Nepal's growing reputation as a safe and attractive destination. The board said it plans to intensify promotional activities in major markets, including India, China, the United States and Europe, ahead of the upcoming tourism season.
