KATHMANDU, April 27: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased marginally by 7.73 points to close at 2,796.43 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,788.7 points and spiked the day’s high at 2,806.63 points in the first 24 minutes. However, the market had a straight fall to 2,789.67 points in the next 27 minutes. For the next one hour, the market almost remained stable, while it followed an upward trend in another one hour. The market shed around four points in the last one hour before it closed for the day.

Five sectors were the losers, as trading declined by the largest of 53.40 points. Of the eight gainers, manufacturing and processing surged by the largest of 178.89 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, inclined 1.64 points. Daily turnover further declined to Rs 4.74 billion from Rs 5.09 billion.
Among the individual companies, 158 were the gainers as 101 lost their charms for the investors. Reliance Spinning Mills had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 307.45 million.
Three companies including Corporate Development Bank Limited, Palpa Cement Industries Limited and Shikhar Power Development Limited stood as topmost gainers of 15 percent. Nifra Green Energy Debenture witnessed a decline of 14.01 percent in its market value and was recorded as the highest loser.
