KATHMANDU, Sept 16: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) could not retain the confidence of investors and fell by a double-digit figure of 21.19 points on Wednesday.
The secondary market rose by a whopping 48.57 points on Tuesday after the government announced the recovery plan of the country’s stock exchange market. However, the market plunged by notable value to close at 2,612.2 points on the consecutive day.
The turnover amount also decreased by a significant amount, to Rs 5.38 billion from Rs 8.29 billion on the previous day. Sector-wise, the Hydropower group index recorded the steepest drop, falling by 1.04 percent.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
On Wednesday, the share prices of 43 companies rose, while those of 224 companies fell and the prices of 12 companies remained unchanged.
Among individual companies, Narayani Development Bank saw the highest gain, with its share price rising by 6.37 percent. Similarly, the share price of Himal Dolakha Hydropower increased 5.31 percent.
On the other hand, NMB Hybrid Fund L-2 recorded the highest decline, with its unit price falling by 7.73 percent. Likewise, the share price of Ridge Line Energy fell by 5.21 percent.
Himal Dolakha Hydropower recorded the highest turnover. Shares of the company worth Rs 379.5 million were traded in the intraday.
