NEPSE raises circuit breaker limit to 15 percent

The change was made through an amendment to the Securities Trading Regulations, according to NEPSE. The new provision will come into effect from Monday, April 20.

KATHMANDU, April 17: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has revised its rule on daily price fluctuation limits, increasing the circuit breaker range from 10 percent to 15 percent.



The change was made through an amendment to the Securities Trading Regulations, according to NEPSE.

The new provision will come into effect from Monday, April 20.


Currently, the price of listed companies cannot rise or fall by more than 10 percent in a single trading day. With the revised rule, this limit has been expanded to 15 percent.


NEPSE stated that the circuit breaker mechanism is designed to prevent excessive volatility in share prices within a single trading session.
