Deputy Governors at NRB are appointed from among the Executive Directors. The government has already begun consultations to fill the vacant positions.
According to NRB Governor Dr Bishwanath Paudel, all 18 Executive Directors were asked to submit their CVs, and six candidates have already been shortlisted, sources claim. Two more candidates are expected to be selected from the remaining pool.
Under the Rastra Bank Act, four names must be recommended for two Deputy Governor positions, from which the government appoints two.
Colleagues and former staff described the tenures of Timilsina and Mishra as average in performance.
