KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said there is no disruption in the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from India, urging consumers not to panic-buy.

Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday, NOC Spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur said LPG imports from India are continuing as per demand, and there is currently no shortage in supply.

However, he said the rumors of a possible shortage have prompted many consumers to stockpile gas cylinders unnecessarily, creating what appears to be a shortage in the market.

To address the artificial shortage and streamline the distribution system, Thakur said the NOC has started selling half-filled gas cylinders in the market. He also urged the public not to hoard LPG, stating that supplies remain sufficient.

While gas has been supplied 100 percent according to demand so far, Thakur noted that it is still unclear how the situation may evolve in the coming days.

He added that new price lists for diesel and petrol are issued every 15 days, while aviation fuel and LPG prices are revised once a month. After receiving the updated price list, the corporation will determine whether LPG prices need to be adjusted, he said.
