'No trade union exists within the Federal Parliament Secretariat'

KATHMANDU, May 8:  The Federal Parliament Secretariat of Nepal has confirmed that no trade union organizations exist within its structure anymore.



In a statement issued by the Secretariat, it said that following the implementation of Ordinance No. 7 (2083), the legal provision for employees’ unions under the Federal Parliament Secretariat Act, 2064 has been amended and removed.

As a result, the previous arrangement allowing staff trade unions is no longer in effect, effectively dissolving all such unions within the Secretariat.


According to the notice signed by Section Officer Bimal Pariyar, the decision was made on May 7 and has been officially communicated for public information.


The Secretariat clarified that after the legal amendment, employees’ union-related provisions no longer exist in the governing law, meaning trade unions are no longer recognized within the institution.
