NRB allows commercial banks to invest in foreign govt bonds

KATHMANDU, July 7: Commercial banks will be allowed to invest in foreign government bonds from the next fiscal year (FY).

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) through the monetary policy for FY 2026/27 talks about taking flexible policy over commercial banks’ investment in foreign government bonds for effective management of liquidity generated via uses of foreign currency purchased by the banks.
