NRB moves to revoke licence of Kanchanpur-based money changer, seeks claims within 35 days

In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the central bank said the company had applied to cease operations in accordance with Rule 22 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Money Changer Licensing and Inspection Regulations, 2020 (as amended). Based on that application, the process to cancel its operating licence has been set in motion.

KATHMANDU, June 25: The Nepal Rastra Bank Office in Dhangadhi has initiated the process of revoking the licence of Rastriya Money Changer Pvt Ltd, which operates from Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur.



In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the central bank said the company had applied to cease operations in accordance with Rule 22 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Money Changer Licensing and Inspection Regulations, 2020 (as amended). Based on that application, the process to cancel its operating licence has been set in motion.

The money changer is located in Bhimdatta Municipality–4, Mahendranagar, and has formally requested permission to shut down its business.


The central bank has urged any individuals or organizations with outstanding transactions, claims, or other concerns related to the company to contact the NRB's Dhangadhi Office within 35 days from the date of publication of the notice.


According to the notice, if no claims or objections are received within the specified period, the central bank will proceed with the final licence revocation process in accordance with prevailing regulations.
