KATHMANDU, July 17: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has accused the government of directing vehicles to be parked outside media houses to obstruct access, claiming those involved escaped action because they acted on government instructions.
Addressing a program at the party's central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, on Friday, Oli alleged that the incident was orchestrated by the government.
"They park vehicles across the entrances of people's homes, offices and media houses, creating obstructions," he said. "Those vehicles are removed safely, and no action is taken because the government itself directed those activities. How can action be taken against them?"

Calling the incident an attack on public tolerance, Oli described it as an example of "fascism."
"This is fascism. Can a government behave like this? Can a state function this way?" he said.
Oli also alleged that police used excessive force against activist Majid Ansari, saying the government had acted in an even more authoritarian manner than a dictatorship by suppressing peaceful protests.
