CHITWAN, March 23: A 35-year-old woman, Meena Regmi of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7, died on Monday after a tanker collided with a scooter in Ratnanagar Municipality-9, Nipani, Chitwan, police said.
According to Inspector Dipak Rijal of Chitwan District Police Office, the tanker (registration LU 2 Kha 2894) coming from Khairahani toward Bharatpur hit the scooter (Na 55 Pa 077) as it entered from an inner road. Regmi, who was riding on the back of the scooter, died on the spot.

The tanker also hit two motorcycles (Na 65 Pa 7883 and Na 55 Pa 8083) and a bicycle. The scooter driver, Purna Sapkota of Bharatpur-7, sustained minor injuries.
The tanker driver, 24-year-old Sujan Tamang of Rapti Municipality-7, has been taken into police custody.
