SYANGJA, June 26: One person was killed and 20 others injured after a jeep overturned on the Mirdi–Chapakot road section at Lovely Danda in Waling Municipality-7, Syangja, on Friday.
The accident occurred when a double-cab Bolero jeep (registration number BAA 7905) traveling from Tapke to Waling overturned by the roadside. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Rajendra Birkatta of Waling-7.

According to police, the jeep was carrying 22 passengers. The injured were given initial treatment at the Waling Primary Health Center before being referred to other hospitals for further care.
Seventeen of the injured were referred to hospitals in Pokhara, while two were sent to Butwal. One child is receiving treatment at the Waling Primary Health Center.
Police have taken the driver, 28-year-old Min Bahadur Saru of Waling-7, into custody. Authorities said an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
Hospital sources said three of the 17 patients referred to Pokhara are in critical condition. They have been identified as 46-year-old Rupakala Saru of Waling-7, 55-year-old Sumitra Gurung of Rupandehi, and 41-year-old Mayadevi Sunari of Nawalparasi East. They sustained serious head, facial, and chest injuries.
The remaining injured are reported to be in stable to moderate condition and are receiving treatment at hospitals in Pokhara, Butwal, and Waling.
