PADT refutes claims of Home Minister Aryal wearing leather shoes inside Pashupatinath temple

PADT clarified that false publicity was being spread on social media by sharing a photo taken in front of the door built in the southwest corner outside the main temple of Pashupatinath.

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: Pashupati Area Development Trust has clarified that Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal did not enter the main temple of Pashupatinath wearing leather shoes.



On October 22, Home Minister Aryal made a private visit to the Pashupati area with his family and visited the main temples there. Subhash Chandra Joshi, the acting member secretary of the PADT, has informed that he did not enter the prohibited area wearing shoes. He also clarified that false publicity was being spread on social media by sharing a photo taken in front of the door built in the southwest corner outside the main temple of Pashupatinath.

Home Minister Aryal had taken a photo in front of the opened door that was inaugurated in 2003 when Basanta Chaudhary was the member secretary of the trust. The trust stated that a photo of Home Minister Aryal's family, the acting member secretary and a pandit, was wrongly circulated on social media.


The PADT stated that Home Minister Aryal visited Pashupatinath, Gorakhnath and Guheshwori temples in Mrigasthali on Wednesday.
