Parliamentary Committee directs govt to curb black-marketing, artificial shortage of cooking gas

The Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee under the House of Representatives has instructed the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies to control black marketing and artificial shortage of LP gas.

KATHMANDU, July 15: The Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee under the House of Representatives has instructed the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies to control black marketing and artificial shortage of LP gas. 



During the meeting held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday, Committee President Rahabar Ansari directed the ministry to provide details after conducting a study and research about the possibility and impact of pipeline expansion for long-term management of easy and smooth supply of cooking gas at the committee within a week.

He further called for ensuring quality market inspection by conducting regular monitoring through Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, Nepal Oil Corporation and the Ministry to minimize possible risk to consumers from using old gas cylinders.
