PM’s Disaster Relief Fund receives Rs 13.23 billion

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund has received a total of Rs 13.23 billion in donations, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.



As of 5 pm Friday, nine bank accounts designated by the government to collect relief contributions had a combined balance of Rs 9.68 billion, the OPMCM said.

Similarly, two dollar accounts opened for relief contributions had received US$23.28 million.


The government had released Rs 1 billion from the fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority a few days ago for survivors of the Bhotekoshi floods.


The funds have been collected to support relief and recovery efforts for people affected by the disaster.
