SUNSARI, July 27: A clash between two communities in Kaptanganj of Dewanganj Rural Municipality, Ward 3, Sunsari, left one person dead after security personnel opened fire, prompting the local administration to impose an indefinite curfew in five areas of the district.
The clash began at around 10:30 pm on Sunday. According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, Om Prakash Mehta of Kaptanganj was killed after being hit by a bullet fired by security personnel.

Armed Police Force personnel fired seven rounds to bring the situation under control.
A total of 16 people, including protesters and police personnel, were injured in the violence. The dispute reportedly began over loud music being played through a DJ system at a temple in Kaptanganj, escalating into a clash between members of the Hindu and Muslim communities.
Following the incident, the District Administration Office, Sunsari, imposed an indefinite curfew in five areas of the district.
Chief District Officer Basudev Ghimire issued the order, which came into effect at 7 am on Monday and will remain in force until further notice. The order, issued at 12:30 am, prohibits all movement, public gatherings, rallies, demonstrations, assemblies, meetings and sit ins within the designated areas.
The administration said the curfew was imposed under Section 6(A) of the Local Administration Act, 1971, and warned of strict legal action against anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands.
