Police urge complainants to contact offices after case files destroyed in Gen-Z protests

KATHMANDU, Nov 14 :  Kathmandu Police have requested victims and complainants to visit their respective police offices after a large number of case files were destroyed during vandalism and arson incidents amid the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9.



According to Kathmandu District Police Range, several police offices suffered damage in the unrest, resulting in the loss of important documents and case files. Police officials said the destruction has created difficulties in advancing criminal investigations and legal procedures.

Issuing a notice, the District Police Range stated, “As documents and case files were destroyed due to vandalism and arson, victims and individuals who had submitted complaints are requested to contact the concerned police office.”


Complainants have been asked to bring any documents they may still have and coordinate with the respective police unit to help reconstruct the lost records.
