KATHMANDU, May 7: The government has appointed senior physician and medical education expert Prof Dr Jagdish Prasad Agrawal as the honorary health advisor to Prime Minister Balen Shah.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, according to the government.

Dr Agrawal, former dean of the Institute of Medicine under Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine, will advise the Prime Minister on public health policy, healthcare system challenges, and reforms in medical education.
The Prime Minister’s Secretariat said Dr Agrawal will serve purely in an advisory capacity without receiving any salary or financial benefits from the state.
The appointment comes as the Prime Minister prioritizes strengthening public health as a key agenda of his administration.
