Ramkumari Jhakri questions delay in probe of September 9 arson and vandalism

KATHMANDU, April 6: Ramkumari Jhakri, a member of the National Assembly from the CPN-UML, has raised questions regarding the investigation into the September 24 incidents, including the arson at Singha Durbar.



Speaking in the National Assembly on Monday, Jhakri asked, “When will a fair and impartial investigation into the September 9 events take place?” She further questioned whether the September 8-9 protests were truly peaceful or involved violence, and who would be held accountable.

Jhakri expressed concern over reports suggesting that damage to structures like Singha Durbar was being monitored or condoned, and criticized the deployment of young people inappropriately during the incidents. She urged that the facts of the events be made public promptly, warning against downplaying or ignoring state failures.
