Retired civil servants to receive retirement benefits by July 9

The FCGO had earlier announced that such payments would be processed only until July 4, but the deadline has now been extended to July 9, giving treasury offices additional time to complete the disbursement process.

KATHMANDU, July 4: The Financial Comptroller General's Office (FCGO) has directed all District Treasury Controller Offices (DTCOs) to process and disburse retirement benefits to retired civil servants by July 9.



According to Subhash Chandra Aryal, an Accounts Officer at the FCGO, the office has instructed the concerned treasury offices to release payments for gratuity, accumulated leave encashment, and medical expenses to eligible retirees.

Aryal said the decision follows an order issued on July 3, extending the authorization period for processing and disbursing payments in accordance with Sub-rule (2) of Rule 30 of the Financial Procedures and Financial Responsibility Regulations, 2020.
