RSP condemns attempt to intimidate media, demands immediate impartial investigation

KATHMANDU, July 13: The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has expressed serious concern over the placement of unidentified vehicles outside the offices of several media organizations, calling for an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident.



In a statement issued on Monday, the RSP's General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya urged the authorities to investigate the matter without delay. "The Rastriya Swatantra Party makes it clear that it will never accept any attempt, under any pretext, to undermine freedom of information and the press, create an atmosphere of fear around media institutions, or restrict the role of the fourth estate," the statement said.

Acharya stated that a free and fearless press is the lifeblood of democracy and reaffirmed the party's commitment to protecting press freedom and ensuring an environment in which journalists can work without intimidation.
