RSP expands leadership bodies, nominates Bhup Dev Shah as Joint General Secy

KATHMANDU, April 20: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has moved to broaden its organisational base, inducting new members into its central structures while elevating key figures within the party hierarchy.

A Central Committee meeting held on Monday decided to expand both the Central Advisory Council and the Central Leadership Council by adding a number of new members. Party leaders said the move is aimed at strengthening internal coordination and widening representation across provinces.

In a notable development, the meeting approved the nomination of Bhup Dev Shah as Joint General Secretary. Shah, considered close to Prime Minister Balendra Shah, had contested the House of Representatives election from Achham but was defeated. His elevation is seen within party circles as an effort to bring experienced yet emerging leaders into the party’s core decision-making structure.

The committee also endorsed the nomination of Sagar Dhakal and Sarita Shree Gyawali to the party secretariat, further reinforcing its central leadership team. The latest reshuffle is seen as RSP’s continued efforts to recalibrate its leadership structure as it seeks to consolidate its political presence and organisational depth nationwide.
