KATHMANDU, June 24: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has reported a total membership of 523,465 as presented in the party’s organizational report at its first national general convention in Chitwan.
According to the report submitted by General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the party has 396,789 male members, 89,896 female members, and 588 members categorized as other. Additionally, 36,192 individuals have not disclosed their gender identity.
In terms of percentage, men make up 75.8 percent of the total membership, women account for 17.2 percent, while 0.1 percent fall under the “other” category and 6.9 percent have not specified their gender.

The convention is currently underway in Chitwan. Following the presentation of reports, the party is preparing to move ahead with the election process for central leadership.
A total of 99 central committee members will be elected, with mandatory representation of five members from each of the seven provinces. Among those elected from provinces, at least two must be women. The remaining 64 positions will be filled through open competition.
After the election of the chairperson and 99 central committee members, the party will proceed to elect other office-bearers in the next phase.
