KATHMANDU, March 15: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has said it may take around 10 more days to form a new government.
Party spokesperson Manish Jha said the government formation process will proceed only after the party finalizes the selection of lawmakers under the Proportional Representation (PR) system.
RSP seeks explanation from General Secretary Dhakal
“According to the constitutional process, we will complete the selection of candidates under all proportional clusters today. After that, it may take about 10 days for the new government to be formed,” Jha said while arriving at the party office for a meeting.
The party’s secretariat meeting is being held virtually today to finalize the list of PR lawmakers.
In the election held on March 5, the RSP secured 125 seats under the first-past-the-post system and is expected to receive an additional 57 seats through the proportional representation system.
