KATHMANDU, July 1: Newly elected office-bearers and central committee members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have taken the oath of office and secrecy following the party’s First General Convention.
RSP President Rabi Lamichhane administered the oath to the newly elected leaders and central members during a ceremony held at the party’s central office in Banasthali on Wednesday.

A total of 99 central members were elected at the party’s First General Convention. Lamichhane was elected as the president unopposed, while Dr Swarnim Wagle was elected as vice-president without contest.
Similarly, Sobita Gautam was elected vice-president, Bipin Kumar Acharya as general secretary and Hari Dhakal, Asim Shah and Nisha Dangi as joint general secretaries.
According to the party statute, RSP has a provision to nominate 11 office-bearers, including senior leaders. The statute also authorizes the president to nominate 51 central members.
