KATHMANDU, Sept 7: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the Bhotekoshi flood and conveyed solidarity with the people and Government of Nepal.
Rubio expressed the condolences during a telephone conversation with Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), according to a press statement issued by the party on Monday.
No factionalism in RSP: Rabi Lamichhane
During the call, Lamichhane said the Government of Nepal was mobilizing all available resources for the ongoing search, rescue and relief operations.
Lamichhane also assured Rubio that Nepal was committed to ensuring the safety and security of foreign nationals in the country, alongside its own citizens.
He thanked the US government for its support during the difficult time.
In response, Rubio said the United States was ready to provide additional support to the Government of Nepal, according to the RSP statement.
