KATHMANDU, May 20: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the release on bail of former minister Raj Kumar Gupta, who was in judicial custody in a corruption case.

A joint bench of Justices Saranga Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel overturned an earlier SC order that had sent Gupta to custody for trial and directed his release on bail.
According to SC spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala, the order for his release has been issued. The detailed written ruling, however, is yet to be made public.
