KATHMANDU, April 28: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered authorities to produce former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Shekhar Golchha, before the court within 24 hours.
A bench of Justice Nripdhwaj Niraula issued the order on Tuesday, directing that Golchha be presented within 24 hours excluding travel time. The order follows a habeas corpus petition filed on Monday by his wife, Seema Golchha.

Senior advocates Ramesh Kumar Dhital, Pankaj Kumar Karn and Suryaraj Dahal represented Golchha in court.
Golchha was arrested on April 23 by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police under the Securities Act. Authorities have extended his detention period for investigation, with the Kathmandu District Court granting additional time after his statement could not be completed.
Police said Golchha’s statement is currently being recorded. The SC has also directed authorities to present the investigation file related to the extension of his detention.
