BHAKTAPUR, June 27: A 40-year-old woman died after allegedly being beaten by her son at Bhatedhikur Chowk in Suryabinayak Municipality-9 of Bhaktapur on Friday evening.
Police said Kiran Chaudhary, 24, allegedly assaulted his mother Meghiya Chaudhary, a resident of Katari Municipality-5 of Udayapur who was currently living in Bhatedhikur, at around 7:45 PM.

The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Suryabinayak Municipal Hospital and later referred to Bir Hospital and Patan Hospital, where doctors declared her dead at around 11:00 PM.
Police have taken Kiran into custody. Further investigation into the murder is currently underway.
