KATHMANDU, June 6: Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal and Chair of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal visited the proposed dry port site at Dodhara-Chandani Municipality in Kanchanpur on Friday.
The visit was made on the sidelines of the High-level Inter-Legislative Conference being held in the region.

The proposed dry port is expected to play a significant role in boosting trade connectivity and supporting the country’s long-term economic development once operational.
Deputy Speaker Rubi Kumari Thakur and National Assembly Vice Chair Lila Kumari Bhandari also accompanied the delegation during the site inspection.
According to the Speaker’s Private Secretariat, the delegation also visited several nearby sites of religious, tourism, and economic importance, including Bhakkeni Dham, Brahmadev, and the Tanakpur area.
During the visit, the leaders also reached Mahendranagar Airport and Shuklaphanta National Park, where they held discussions with stakeholders on possible upgrades and expansion of airport services.
