DANG, Sept 8: A student from Dang died after being caught in a landslide along the Dang-Salyan section of the Rapti Highway.
Madan Pun, a Grade 12 student at Great Araniko English Secondary School in Tulsipur, Dang, died in the landslide, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Patali of the District Police Office, Salyan.

Pun was travelling to his home in Triveni Rural Municipality-3, Salyan, during a holiday when he was caught in the landslide on Monday night.
According to police, Pun sustained serious injuries and died on the way to Surkhet while being taken there for treatment.
Another person, 18-year-old Sunil Thapa of Triveni Rural Municipality-3, was also injured in the same landslide.
Thapa sustained injuries to his left hand and leg and is receiving treatment at Kantipur Community Hospital in Shrinagar.
