KATHMANDU, July 9: The British College (TBC) and the Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) have signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly organize the Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter 2026, aiming to strengthen the country's startup ecosystem and connect Nepali entrepreneurs with global opportunities.
Under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on Monday, The British College, the exclusive national organizer of the competition, appointed CAN Federation as the strategic organizing partner for the Nepal chapter.
The agreement was signed by Rajen Kandel, Group CEO of The Kandel Group and The British College, and Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation and Founder and CEO of One Cover Pvt. Ltd.

As part of the partnership, the two organizations will organize provincial-level competitions, expand outreach nationwide, engage mentors and investors, and host the national finale to identify Nepal's top startup, which will represent the country at the global competition.
Kandel said innovation and entrepreneurship are key drivers of Nepal's future economic growth and that the partnership would provide startups with greater access to mentorship, investment and international exposure.
Adhikari said the collaboration would strengthen Nepal's technology and innovation ecosystem by encouraging entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for startups to connect with industry leaders, investors and global platforms.
Organized globally by Pegasus Tech Ventures, the Startup World Cup is one of the world's largest startup pitch competitions, with more than 100 regional events across over 60 countries. The winner of the Nepal chapter will qualify for the Global Grand Finale in Silicon Valley, where startups compete for an opportunity to secure a US$1 million investment, subject to the competition's terms and conditions.
According to the organizers, the partnership reflects their shared commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and global engagement while supporting the growth of Nepal's startup ecosystem.
