Three killed, 122 injured in 24 road accidents across Nepal in past 24 hours

Three people were killed and 122 others injured in 24 road accidents reported across Nepal over the past 24 hours, according to Nepal Police. Police data showed that the fatalities were reported from Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, with two deaths recorded in Lumbini and one in Gandaki.

KATHMANDU, June 14: Three people were killed and 122 others injured in 24 road accidents reported across Nepal over the past 24 hours, according to Nepal Police.



Police data showed that the fatalities were reported from Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, with two deaths recorded in Lumbini and one in Gandaki.

In Lumbini Province, 57-year-old Churiya Chaudhary of Rapti Rural Municipality-4 in Dang succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment after being seriously injured in a truck collision. Similarly, Tilak Kandel, who was injured after being hit by a truck in Gulariya Municipality-11 of Bardiya, also died during treatment.


In Gandaki Province, tractor driver Ashish Gharti Magar died on the spot after a tractor accident in the Khayarkhola area of Dhorpatan Municipality-5 in Baglung. Police said the tractor lost control and plunged around 50 meters below the road.


The highest number of injuries was reported in Karnali and Koshi provinces, with 26 and 25 injured respectively. Likewise, 20 people were injured in Madhesh Province, 17 in the Kathmandu Valley, 13 in Bagmati Province, six in Lumbini Province, and five in Sudurpashchim Province.
