KATHMANDU, April 17: TikTok has removed more than 1.9 million videos in Nepal between October and December 2025 for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s latest enforcement report.

The Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report shows that a total of 1,932,575 videos were taken down in Nepal during the three-month period. TikTok said its proactive removal rate remained high at 99.9 percent, with 98.4 percent of the flagged content removed within 24 hours.

Globally, the platform removed 175.3 million videos during the same period, accounting for around 0.5 percent of all uploaded content. Of these, more than 152.5 million videos were detected and removed using automated systems, while over 8.36 million videos were later reinstated following further review.

TikTok also reported removing 147.7 million fake accounts worldwide, along with an additional 23.8 million accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13.

According to the report, there was a decline in the number of videos removed before receiving a single view, which the company attributed to improvements in its artificial intelligence systems that now better identify and remove older violating content. The platform also recorded a decrease in comment removals, as it increasingly relies on alternative enforcement measures such as demoting inappropriate comments instead of deleting them.

At the same time, TikTok noted a rise in the removal of fake likes and followers, as part of efforts to maintain authenticity and platform integrity.

The report further shows that 21.2 percent of removed videos contained sensitive or mature content that did not comply with platform policies. Another 9.1 percent violated safety and civility standards, while 1.2 percent breached privacy and security guidelines. Misinformation accounted for 1.6 percent of removed content, and 1.8 percent involved edited media or AI-generated content.

TikTok said the periodic publication of its enforcement report is aimed at improving transparency and providing insights into how it moderates content and accounts across the platform.
