Traffic actions generate Rs 1.99 million in revenue in one day

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 65 drivers for drink-driving, 225 for operating ride-sharing services against regulations, 137 for violating traffic signals, and 153 for overspeeding.

KATHMANDU, May 1 : A total of 2,093 drivers were penalized for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours, generating Rs 1.99 million in revenue for the state treasury.



According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 65 drivers for drink-driving, 225 for operating ride-sharing services against regulations, 137 for violating traffic signals, and 153 for overspeeding.

Similarly, 194 drivers were penalized for failing to follow lane discipline, 58 for honking in restricted areas, 109 for parking vehicles on footpaths, 41 for picking up and dropping off passengers at undesignated locations, and 1,121 others for violating various traffic rules.
