KATHMANDU, July 5: Police have arrested two men on charges of defrauding job seekers of Rs 3.9 million by promising overseas employment.
According to the Central Police News Room, Kavre's Saroj Pant and Ramechhap's Anil Khatri were arrested on Saturday. Pant allegedly collected Rs 1.6 million from a man by promising to send him to Ireland, while Khatri is accused of taking Rs 2.3 million from six people with the promise of jobs in Dubai.

Both have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment for further legal action.
Meanwhile, police also arrested 17 people in separate anti-drug operations carried out in Kathmandu, Morang, Parsa, Bhaktapur, Kailali, Gorkha, Sunsari, Banke, Palpa and Jhapa.
