SARLAHI, Feb 27: Police have arrested two individuals on charges of murdering a sub-engineer in Malangwa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi.
According to the District Police Office (DPO), Sarlahi, Ganesh Mahato and Bijay Mahato of Ramgopalpur Municipality in Mahottari were arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing of 36-year-old sub-engineer Pramod Kumar Yadav.

Yadav, a resident of Sukhipur Municipality-6, Baisakha, Siraha, was working at the Infrastructure Development Office in Sarlahi.
Police sources said the suspects were apprehended in India by a team from the DPO, Sarlahi, and brought back to Nepal.
Yadav was shot dead on February 16. According to police, individuals who arrived on a motorcycle called him outside his room and opened fire. He sustained a bullet injury to his left chest. A spent bullet shell was recovered from the incident site. Police said a small firearm (pistol) was used in the murder.
Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the arrested individuals had been an alternative candidate in the Public Service Commission examination alongside Yadav and was working on a contract basis at a local level in Sarlahi.
Police said the murder was allegedly motivated by personal ambition, as the suspects intended to eliminate Yadav to strengthen their claim to a permanent government position.
