RAMECHHAP, March 2: The death toll has risen to two after a vehicle carrying election staff and materials met with an accident in Ramechhap Municipality-2, Deurali, on Monday afternoon.
Those who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Nepal Police Parshuram Yadav and polling officer Dor Prasad Ghimire, who was deployed at the Ward Office Building polling center (Station ‘B’) in Ramechhap Municipality-3, Sanghutar. Ghimire was a lower secondary level (second-class) level teacher at Rudraksheshwor Secondary School in Mugitar, Manthali Municipality-6.

According to locals, the Nissan mini-truck (registration number Na 4 Kha 6768) was carrying election materials and staff assigned to the Shitaladevi Secondary School polling center in Deurali-2 and the ward office polling center in Sanghutar-3 when it met with the accident at Siruwari, Deurali, while reversing.
Five others were injured in the crash. The injured were airlifted to Kathmandu by a Nepali Army helicopter, informed Inspector Rajan Prasad Timilsina of the District Police Office, Ramechhap. Among the injured are two men and three women.
