KATHMANDU, April 18: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was discharged from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Saturday evening and returned to his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, six days after undergoing gallbladder stone surgery.
Oli had been admitted to the hospital after being taken for a medical examination on March 28 following his arrest in connection with an investigation into incidents related to the Gen Z movement, based on the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led probe commission. He was subsequently kept under medical care after health complications were identified.
Paras discharged after appendicitis surgery
While in hospital, police continued investigative procedures as Oli remained under custody. His wife, Radhika Shakya, had filed a habeas corpus petition at the Supreme Court challenging the arrest.
Following a SC interim order on the petition, Oli was released from custody on April 9.
He underwent a successful gallbladder stone surgery on April 13. After six days of post-operative care, doctors discharged him on Saturday, hospital sources said.
