The statement noted that the party would pursue court intervention in case constitutional questions arise.
The UML has described the NHRC report as biased, malicious, and conspiratorial, alleging that it was aimed at politically targeting former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and former Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.
According to the party, some of the report’s conclusions and recommendations could set a precedent for using legal mechanisms to restrict political competition in the future. It also claimed that the report contains bias, recommendations beyond jurisdiction, and legal contradictions.
The statement further emphasized the need for dialogue, discussion, and cooperation among political parties and stakeholders to build consensus on various political, constitutional, and democratic issues facing the country.
