KATHMANDU, Sept 19: The United States has extended its sincere congratulations to the people of Nepal on the occasion of Constitution Day.
In a statement issued on behalf of the US government, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US-Nepal relationship spans nearly 80 years and that the United States looks forward to further strengthening the partnership by expanding trade, innovation and investment ties for the benefit of both countries.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and communities devastated by the recent flash floods, including our fellow Americans affected by this tragedy,” Rubio said.
He added that as search, rescue and recovery efforts continue, the United States joins Nepal in mourning the lives lost and remains committed to supporting recovery efforts.
